Ricciardi, Gene M.

Ricciardi, Gene M. age 80 of Rockaway, NJ died Wednesday May 25, 2011 at the Morristown Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY he had lived many years in Middle Village Queens, NY before moving to Rockaway ten years ago.             Son of the late Amadeo and Anthonette (Barlanti) Ricciardi, Gene was a US Navy Veteran Serving during the Korean War. Mr. Ricciardi had a long career as the Vice President of  Credit and Collections with Lord and Taylor Retail Headquarters Manhattan, NY for twenty two years until his retirement in 1988.  He served as a member and Past President of the National Consumer Credit Assoc. Gene enjoyed Ballroom Dancing with his wife and friends, he was also an avid bowler and accomplished handyman.             Survivors include his beloved wife Jeanette (Siano) Ricciardi, his loving sons Richard A. of Clermont, FL and Michael J. and his wife Catherine of Hoboken, NJ. His daughter Annette E. and her husband Ron Freedman of Summit, NJ. Also surviving are his Granddaughter Alissa Freedman and his sister Connie DiRienzo of Derby, CT.      

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday May 28th, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church 446 Mt. Hope Road Mt. Hope, NJ.  Entombment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ. Visitation will be held Thursday May 26th from 7-9 PM and  Friday May 27th from 3-5 and 7-9 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. Dover, NJ

Jeanette, Annette, Richard and Michael... I am so sorry for you loss. Sonny was such a joy! He had such a wonderful personality and always had a special kindness. I have a lot of wonderful memories of your family visits to Aunt Connie's. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you this weekend.
