
Anaya, Vincent P.
Anaya, Vincent P. age 91 of Kenvil, NJ died Monday October 1, 2012 at the Merry Heart Health Care Center Succasunna, NJ. Born in Kenvil, has lived there all his life.
Son of the late Palmer and Margaret (Hupert) Anaya, Vincent started his career working for Hercules Powder Co. in Roxbury Twp. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Clinton from 1944 to 1946. After returning home from the WWII he purchased and began running the Model Dairy in Kenvil, NJ which he operated from 1946 until his retirement in 1976. He was also the owner and operator of the Dairy Queen in Kenvil for many years.
A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna he was also a member of the VFW Post Mine Hill as well as the American Legion Post 1000 Trenton, NJ.
Vincent was pre deceased by his wife Leila R. (Cooper) Anaya in 1994, a son Robert V. Anaya in 1989, his brother Samuel and three sisters Ida Reinhard, Marie Howarth and Pauline Stroud. Survivors include his daughter Patricia A. and her husband Robert F. Champion of Succasunna, his brother John and his wife Helen Anaya of Hillsborough, NJ as well as his grandchildren Robert V. and Deborah Lee Champion, Stacy A. Harder, Kelly S. Tambasco as well as Robbie and Jennifer.
Memorial Funeral services will be held Friday October 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM in the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna #99 Main St Succasunna, NJ. Interment of cremains will immediately follow in the Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. Dover, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna in Vincent’s memory.
