Banghart, Joseph William Sr. age 76 of Allamuchy, NJ passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side Monday July 13, 2020 at his home following a brief illness. Born in Dover, NJ he grew up in Wharton and has lived most of his life in Allamuchy.

Son of the late Otto and Lottie (nee Molsen) Banghart, Joseph proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1974 being Honorably Discharges as a Private First Class.

He had worked many years as a Grounds Keeper with the Mine Brook Golf Club, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his loving family having cookouts at “Banghart Beach”. He enjoyed having a Bud Light, watching the river go by, gardening around his home, word finds, and playing cards as well his many trips to the Casinos.

Mr. Banghart was pre deceased by a sister Nancy Hill. Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty years, Carolyn Ann (nee Henderson) Banghart, his daughter Melissa and husband Brian Compton, sons Steven D. and wife Tanya Havel, Joseph W. Jr. and wife Leslie and Lawrence Banghart. Also surviving are his brother William Banghart, his sister Eleanor as well as his grandchildren Steven Jr, Ashley, Rosie, Brandon, Brittany, Lawrence Jr., Kaitlyn, Corrine, Ryan, Joey III, Randie and Justin, his three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 15, 2020 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM with Funeral Services Thursday July 16th at 10 AM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ.
