Son of the late Andrew B. and Margaret (LoPuch) Basista, Ronald had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Driver Salesman for American Bakeries of Pennsylvania for thirty years before his retirement in 2001. A member of the Byram Bay Christian Church Hopatcong, NJ, Ronald was a member of the NJ Pistol and Rifle Association, the Master Gardeners of NJ, the VFW of Mine Hill, NJ as well as the American Legion of Dover.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty years Joann A. (May), his son Robert D. of Ocean View, NJ, his two daughters Christine L. Basista of Clermont, FL and Carolyn M. Basista of Washington, DC. Ronald is also survived by his brother Richard A. and his wife Patti Basista of Barnegat, NJ.

Funeral Services with Rev. Kenneth Adams (of the Byram Bay Christian Church) will be held Saturday March 10, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the Bible Church International #791 Rt. 10 E Randolph, NJ. Visitation will also be in the Church Saturday from 1-4PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith Taylor Ruggiero Funeral Home #1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. In lieu of flowers memorial to a favorite charity of choice.
