Son of the late Anthony Thomas and Angela M. (nee Calogero) Donadio, Anthony was born at Fordham Memorial Hospital, and lived on Bathgate Avenue in the Bronx, New York. As a young boy, Anthony served as an altar boy at Our Savior Catholic Church. Tom attended Cardinal Hayes High School, and Manhattan & City College of New York. A constant quest for knowledge had him earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Accounting, and a Master of Business.
Tom proudly enlisted in the United States Military in 1954, receiving a military education attending Officer Candidate School May 1955 – Dec 1955, Command and General Staff Courses, Field Artillery Officers Advanced Course and Senior Command Orientation Course to name a few. Anthony was commissioned: 16 Dec 1955 as a 2nd Lieutenant, Field Artillery Unit Commander, Armored Division & Artillery Guided Missile.

He quickly climbed in rank; 1957 1st Lieutenant, 1961 Captain, 1968 Major and in 1972 Lieutenant Colonel until his separation from the military in 1978. Throughout his military career, Lt. Col. Donadio earned the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Following the United States Army, Tom worked for various painting firms before starting his own company as the President and CEO of TSD Associates Painting and Decorating, New York, NY, Contracting Firm, from which he retired.

An avid reader, Tom had in depth knowledge of Army, Navy, and Air Force armaments. He had a vast knowledge of horticulture and gardening. Tom enjoyed antiquing, mineral collecting, rare stamps and coin collecting, and fishing.
He was predeceased by his younger brothers Charles Peter and Salvatore Louis Donadio, and sister-in-law, Deanna.

Tom is survived in life by his loving wife of 66 years, Marie Antonia (nee Sberna) Donadio, his son Anthony Thomas Donadio III of Randolph, NJ, his daughters Lisa M. and her husband Douglas G. Tappan of Baldwinsville, NY and Gina A. and her husband Ronald J. Pellegrino of Wharton, NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren Emily A. Pellegrino, Anne Marie Pellegrino, Elissa R. Tappan, his grandson Geoffrey D. Tappan and his wife Bridget L. Tappan (nee Burnett) of Watervliet, NY, as well as his sister-in-law Maryann Donadio, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be held Friday July 8, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-8:30, with services to follow, in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ.
