Hansen, Troy E.
Troy E. Hansen, age 52 of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away suddenly on Saturday March 27, 2021. Born in Dover, NJ Troy grew up in Mt. Arlington, NJ before moving to the Lake Hopatcong Section of Jefferson Twp. Troy had been a member of the Operating Engineers Local 825 Springfield, NJ, and had a long career as a heavy equipment crane operator. He was an avid motorcycle and gun enthusiast who enjoyed target shooting and in his younger years enjoyed racing with CCS Motorcycle Racing Club. He also enjoyed his remote-control nitro cars, cruising in his Jeep, as well as taking out his boat on Lake Hopatcong.
Troy was predeceased by his father Warren A. Hansen in 1998. Survivors include his wife Wendy A. (nee Trettau) Hansen, his son Cole M. Hansen, and his daughter Chayse E. Hansen. Also surviving are Troy’s mother Maud “Rusty” (nee Beahm) Hansen, his brothers John and his wife Mary Hansen and Chris Hansen, his sisters Kim Hansen-Mitchell and her husband Blair, Donna and her husband Jarl Christensen, and Tracy and her husband Brent Whitener as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday April 1, 2021 from 6 to 9 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hansen Family College Fund C/O Wendy Hansen sent to the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home.
