Son of the late Marcos Tulio Mena Bonilla and Teresa Mena, Samuel lived in Dover for over 40 years. In that time Sam worked and studied. He worked a full-time job during the week and part time on Saturdays. For 9 years, he worked full time and attended college. In 1997 he graduated from NJIT with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked as Chief Substation Technician and retired in May, 2019 Sam enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and telling stories. He was a kind and dedicated leader and friend.

Mr. Mena was predeceased by his brothers Gabriel and Carlos Mena. He is survived in life by his son Edinson and his wife Tatiana Mena, his daughter Katherine Vera-Mena, his grandchildren Marcos, Kaeli Vera and Myah Mena as well as his former wife of forty-four years Leyda Mena. Also surviving are his brothers Enrique, Julio and Jesus Mena as well as his sisters Maria Teresa Mena, Maria Ester Arancibia and Maria Elena Realpe.
