Muller, Alice M. age 98 of Lake Hopatcong, NJ died Wednesday September 11, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Hospice Saint Clare’s Dover Campus. She was born in a home in Nolan’s Point Lake Hopatcong by a Doctor who arrived in a horse drawn sled. Mrs. Muller has resided most of her life in Nolan’s Point.

Daughter of the late Peter and Annie (Edwards) Dow, Alice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and homemaker. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Lake Hopatcong, where she served as the Church Treasurer for many years. She was also an active member of the Church Women’s Society and the Forget-Me-Not’s Quilting Group. She was the oldest living person who was born in Jefferson Township, NJ; a title for which she was very proud.

Alice attended the two room schoolhouse at Nolan’s Point Lake Hopatcong, and was a graduate of the Roxbury High School class of 1932.

Alice was pre deceased by her beloved husband Charles H. in 1994, her brother Richard P. Dow and her sister Ruth Edwards Huber. She is survived by her two loving daughters Catherine A. Nudge of Branchville, and Malinda R. Stanton of Lake Hopatcong. Also her four grandchildren Andrew Nudge Jr., Andrea Sherrer, Lisa Tovo, and Melissa Quick as well as her two Great Grandchildren Zachary and Hunter Meyer.

Funeral Services will be held Monday September 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. Interment will immediately follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery Dover. Visitation will be Sunday September 15th from 3-5 and 7-9 PM in the Funeral Home.
