Son of the late Charles and Mable (Stickle) O’Keefe, Edward had worked many years as a Lineman at Picatinny Arsenal Dover, NJ until his retirement in 1975. A former parishioner of the St. Mary’s RC Church Wharton, Edward was a Life member of the Rockaway Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. Mr. O’Keefe and his father owned and operated Greenhouses in Mt. Hope for many years and he was always available for his friends to work on electrical projects. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, sibling and friend Charles loved time with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. O’Keefe was pre deceased by his beloved wife Verna E. (Stevens) in 2012, a son Edward Charles in 1974, a daughter Lorraine Nelson in 2007; his brother Charles P. Jr. as well as his sister Margaret Waer Schumann. Survivors include his son Wayne D. and his wife Stacie of Vernon, his daughter Gail and her husband Chip Carpenter of Johnson, VT. As well as his six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday October 26, 2016 at 12:00 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home # 1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery Dover. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 AM to Noon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the NJ Fireman’s Home #565 Lathrop Ave. Boonton, NJ.
