Daughter of the late Albert and Lottie (Casmore) Stevens, Verna had attended the Roxbury School system. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sibling and friend and homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. Verna loved time with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. O’Keefe was pre deceased by a son Edward Charles in 1974, a daughter Lorraine Nelson in 2007, as well as one brother and five sisters.

Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty six years Edward “Skip”, her son Wayne D. and his wife Stacie of Vernon, her daughter Gail and her husband Chip Carpenter of Johnson, VT. Verna is also survived by her sisters Alberta Worman of Newton, and Alice Nieper of Byram Township, As well as her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday Nov. 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home # 1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. Interment will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery Dover.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday Nov. 25th from 1-3 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital www.stjude.org.
