Palmer, Arthur E. Jr. age 84 of Dover, NJ died Sunday September 2, 2012 at his home following a long illness. Born in Roxbury Twp., NJ he has lived in Wharton and Dover most of his life. Son of the late Arthur E. Sr. and Ida M. (Malson) Palmer, Arthur was a National Guard and US Army Veteran serving as a Private 2nd class during the Koran War.

Mr. Palmer was a member of the Dover American Legion Post 27 for over forty six years where he served as the Color Guard Flag Man. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge 141 and had been a Boy Scout Troop #14 Leader Dover, NJ for many years. Arthur had worked for the Dover Road Department for twenty two years until his retirement in 1995.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann H. (Henderson) Palmer, his sons Robert J. Jr. and his wife Joan Pierce of Phillipsburg, NJ, David W. Palmer of Kinnelon, NJ and Arthur F. Palmer and Elsia VanDine of Budd Lake. Also surviving are his sister Lillian Miller of Wharton, as well as his eleven grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday September 6th, 2012 from 7-8:30 PM immediately followed by funeral services at 8:30 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home # 1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ.
