
Post, Gloria Grace Pike
Gloria Grace Pike-Post February 7, 1926 – September 13, 2011 age 85 of Ledgewood, New Jersey has passed on from this life to be at home with our Lord on September 13, 2011. She resided briefly at the Dover Regency Nursing Center, where she was recently admitted with hospice care. Gloria Grace Pike was born on February 7, 1926 in Clifton, NJ, at home. She was born to Irma Mae and Arthur Pike, one of six daughters. Gloria settled with her family in the Dover area when she was quite young and resided there most of her life. She was a born again child of God in 1935 at age nine, and was baptized in a Baptist Church in Collingswood, NJ.
She loved singing in the church choir until she got cancer in 1995 and was no longer able to sing. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Netcong, NJ. Throughout her life, she always found comfort in reading the Scriptures. In 1947, Gloria married Louis Post at the age of twenty-one in Bernardsville, NJ. They had six children. They resided in Dover, Kenvil and in Randolph where they raised their family in a home built by her husband, Louis. Gloria retired in 1987 from Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical Company in Morris Plains, NJ after working there for twenty-seven years. Gloria was very “Family oriented” and enjoyed a close relationship with her sisters, her children and their families. Some of her fondest memories included family picnics at the “Big House.” She loved her children, grand-children and great grand-children with a passion, and left a legacy of love and faith for each of them. Gloria Grace Post is survived by three siblings and their spouses; Betty and Elwood Edwards of Hackettstown, NJ: Phyllis and Al Cocking of Stroudsburg, PA and Barbara and Richard Norton of Hemet, CA. Four children, Betty Lou and Kurt Zivelonghi of Midlothian, VA; Gloria Jean Post of Charlotte, NC, Mari Lynn and Charles Beyer of Mt Arlington, NJ and L. Robert Post of Hopatcong, NJ.
Grandchildren; Lori Lynn Blevins of Evans, GA., Chase Eden Pielak and wife Jennifer of Bettendorf, IA, Erin Elizabeth and husband John Rice of Charlotte, NC., Christopher Mychael Beyer of Mt Arlington, NJ., Arielle Joy Stewart of Council Bluffs, IA, and seven great-grand children, Luke and Aubrie Rose Blevins, Isaiah, Kira Beth, Nathaniel, and Isaac Pielak and Cassidy Stewart as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by former husband, Louis Frances Post, 2 children, Nancy Mae and David Arthur, sisters Jane McCrea and Lois DeSisto; and grandchildren, Charles Thomas and Tricia Lynn Beyer. Her viewing and “going home ”service will be held at Grace, The Church on the Mount, Rt. 46E Netcong NJ, Thursday, September 15 , 2011 at noon. Visitation will also be at the Church from 11:00 am to noon. Interment will immediately follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Randolph, NJ.
