
Rebecca L. Koo
Rebecca L. Koo, age 40 of Dover, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Saint Clare’s Hospital Dover Campus. Born in Denville, NJ, she grew up in Jefferson, Randolph, and Roxbury and has resided in Dover for the past 14 years.
Rebecca was proud of her educational beginnings at the Ellen T. Briggs Elementary School in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. She graduated from Roxbury High School and went on to County College of Morris. She was a member of 4-H, a Brownie, and a talented softball player. She had a satisfying career for over 20 years as a teacher then Assistant Director of the Goddard School in Denville, NJ.
Survivors include her beloved husband of twenty-three years, John Koo; her daughters Brianna and her husband Jose Escamilla, Alison, Melanie, and Madison Koo all of Dover, NJ; her father Carl R. Dean Jr. and his wife Jennifer; her mother Heather L. May
(nee Hubbell) and husband John; her sisters Melissa Pfenninger and her husband Jonathan of Fayetteville, NC and Rachel C. Murn and her husband Harrison of Madison, WI; her brothers Carl R Dean III and his wife Sara of Stroudsburg, PA, John J. May Jr. of Waymart, PA, and Cory May of Carbondale, PA, brother-in-law’s James Koo and wife Damaris of Mine Hill, NJ; Jeffrey Koo of Parsippany, NJ, and Jason Koo of Dover, NJ and sister-in-law Mary Ann Orama and husband Angel of Mine Hill, NJ. Also surviving is her cherished grandson Kylo and her nieces Jocelyn, Hazel, Ivy, Elliott, and Violet, and her nephews James, Carl IV, and Benjamin, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her beloved dog Ella.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM with funeral services being held Thursday, July 13th at 10:30 AM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home – One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. Interment will immediately follow at the Cemetery of First Presbyterian on 99 Main St. in Succasunna, NJ 07876. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the GoFundMe link below:
