Scharf, Joan Schultz
Scharf, Joan Schultz age 91 of Denville, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at the Morris Health Care Center Morris Plains, NJ following a brief illness. Born in Little Valley, NY Joan had lived most of her life in Ellicottville, NY before moving to Denville two and one-half years ago.
Daughter of the late Francis and Leona (Lindell) Schultz, she had worked many years as an Operator for the New York Telephone Co. Salamanca, NY until her retirement in 1965. A parishioner of the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church Ellicottville, NY; Joan was also a dedicated member of the Rosary and
Alter Society.
Mrs. Scharf was pre deceased by her beloved husband Germain J. in 1997 as well as a sister Ione Sherman. Survivors include her son Germain J. and his wife Jamie of Allegany, NY, her daughters Cynthia D. and her husband Christopher Dour of Denville, NJ and Nancy L. Scharf of Cabot, AR. Also surviving are her sister Juanita Keenen of Little Valley, NY as well as her five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial in the Holy Name of Mary RC Church as well as graveside interment of cremains in Holy Cross Cemetery will be announced in the spring.
