Fernandez, Takako M. age 53 of Rockaway passed away Friday January 13, 2023, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center Livingston after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Yakumo, Japan Takako grew up in Shizukari, Japan. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design in Tokyo, she moved to the United States in 2002 where she had lived in South Jersey and Lake Hiawatha before settling in Rockaway six years ago.
Mrs. Fernandez enjoyed her career as General Affairs Coordinator with Casio America Corp. Dover, NJ. She had a passion for interior design and decorating always being careful to utilize many beautiful flowers or anything yellow. An avid reader, she also enjoyed hiking and swimming. Takako loved cats and had many fond memories of her cat “Happy” back in Guam.
A loving and devoted wife, aunt, daughter, sister, cousin and friend to many, she was a warm, loving and caring person. Takako was predeceased by her mother Kinue Matsuura. She is survived by her beloved husband of fourteen years Ricardo A. Fernandez, her father Tsuchihei Matsuura as well as her three brothers and a cousin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ from 3-5 and 7-8:30 PM with funeral services beginning at 8:30 PM.
