An avid outdoorsman, Mark enjoyed anything “hands on” like cooking, woodworking, crafts and especially tinkering. The former Game Keeper at the Mashomack Fish and Game reserve Pine Planes, NY, Mr. Taplin was the Co-owner operator of the Hillside Manor Disabled Veterans Boarding House in Dover, NJ for the past eleven years. A member of Ducks Unlimited, he enjoyed raising ducks as well as making decoys. A devout member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Dover, NJ he was an avid reader and enjoyed antiquing.

Pre deceased by his mother Lois A. Taplin in 2001 as well as his sister Karen Cole in 1983, Mark is survived by his beloved wife Laurie J. (Goss) Taplin and their pet Hannah. Also surviving are his father George Taplin of Shelter Isl., NY, his brothers George of Herndon, VA, Scott of Oak Bluff, MA and Bruce of Shelter Isl., NY. His sisters Lynn Taplin of St. Paul, MN, Terry Gramkowski of Edgartown, MA, and Jill Peterson of Mt. Arlington, NJ., his Mother and Father in law George and Jean Goss of Lincoln, DE, his sister in laws Kathy Schuitemaker of Lincoln, DE and Bonnie Miller of Clayton, NC, his brother in law Tim Goss of Milton, NY, Also his uncle in law Robert Goss of Gillette, NJ, six nieces, six nephews and one great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Sunday November 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home # 1 Baker Ave. Dover, NJ.
