Vadas, Carolyn P. age 70 of Roxbury Twp., NJ died peacefully Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice Fredon Twp., NJ. Born in East Orange, she grew up in West Caldwell and has lived in Roxbury Twp. Since 1969.

Daughter of the late Roland and Alice (Adams) Holden, Carolyn graduated as the class valedictorian from the Grover Cleveland High School Caldwell, NJ class of 1962. She later received her bachelor’s degree in English from Montclair State. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Carolyn was a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed reading, sewing and arts and crafts with her grandchildren. Mrs. Vadas had been a Girl Scout Troop leader as well as a softball coach in Roxbury for many years.

Carolyn was pre deceased by a son James Vadas and a sister Judith Scolavino. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years George Steven Vadas, her son Timothy Vadas of Mansfield Center, CT, her daughters Christine Cooper of Sparta and Cheryl Campbell of Stanhope. Also surviving are her nine cherished grandchildren and her brother Roland Holden of La Cresenta, CA.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday February 20, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church #61 Main St. Flanders, NJ. Interment will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery De Forest Ave. East Hanover, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home #1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice #99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07860.
