Vasconcelos-Pagan, Yldalgelia
Yldalgelia Vasconcelos-Pagan, 94 of Dover, NJ went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2020. She was born in Remedio, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba July 26, 1926 daughter of late Francisco and Rosa Vasconcelos. She is survived by her children, Rene, Richard, Diana, Rose and Gilbert and their spouses. She is also survived by one brother, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
“Ida” as she was known grew up in Remedio and was considered “guajira” (peasant girl) and was unashamed and unapologetic of where she came from. Even though she was poor and had only 2nd grade she worked hard in a factory rolling cigars, as domestic worker doing laundry and acquired cooking skills which she continued making savory dishes until her passing.
Wanting a better life, she came to USA in 1954 and worked hard as a homemaker as well as in a factory. She enabled her children to study and all excel. She ultimately became a citizen and was proud to be an American. As we knew her well, we can say that she was a very loyal and passionate woman. These two traits being very true to a Cuban. She was comical in nature, animated and had absolutely no filter. She loved missions and was very generous. She loved Seafood, cooking, flowers, music, and dancing. She was always fashionable and wore her favorite color red often especially red lipstick.
She loved God and loved to read the Bible. God was gracious and gave her 94 years and we are grateful we were able to celebrate her life with her this long. We will miss her but know we will see her again in Heaven! This is not a good-bye but see you soon!
