Virella Jorge F.

Jorge F. Virella, known as Jorgie to those closest to him and Ati to his grandchildren, passed away peacefully and covered in love on May 27th, 2021. Born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, he lived in North Jersey for the past 34 years, where he raised his family and worked for years as a baker, creating beautiful cakes and other delicacies.

He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend with an unwavering belief in God and a charisma that made even strangers feel like they’d known him for years, but it was the role of father and grandfather that he treasured most.

A consummate girl dad, Jorgie was proud of his five girls and extended that fatherly love to the countless friends who often came in and out of the family home. He was Papi to everyone, never hesitating to open the doors of his home to anyone in need. As a grandfather, he was doting and loved nothing more than spending time with his six grandchildren. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his newest grandson in July.

Jorgie fought a courageous fight for his beloved family and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will have a lasting impact on those who were blessed enough to know him.

His daughters will hold visitation and service celebrating his life on June 1st, 2021 beginning 6 PM and ending at 9 PM in the Smith-Taylor-Ruggiero Funeral Home One Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ. Online condolences through www.smith-taylor-ruggierofuneralhome.com
