Will, Marie G.
Will, Marie G. age 89 of Staten Island, NY died Sunday October 17, 2010 at her home following a long illness. Born in Hazleton, PA she grew up in Roxbury Twp., and had lived many years in Rockaway before retiring to Lady Lake, FL in 1988. Marie has lived in Staten Island since 2007.
Daughter of the late George H. and Mary (Swontek) Derr, she was a graduate of the Roxbury High School, and had worked twenty four years as a Secretary for Picatinny Arsenal Dover, NJ until her retirement in 1982. An avid bowler, Marie also enjoyed Bocce as well as many other activities with the senior groups.
Pre deceased by her husband the late George H. in 1996 as well as her daughter Margaret Caruso in 2007, Marie is survived by her Daughter Rosemary Garber of Staten Island. Also surviving are her four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Smith Taylor Ruggiero Funeral Home #1 Baker Ave. (Rt. 46) Dover, NJ 07801. Interment will follow in the Locust Hill Cemetery Dover. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening Oct. 20, 2010 from 7-9. In lieu of flowers memorials in Marie’s memory can be made to a charity of choice.
